Rockett, as he is known, has quite the diverse resume making him a much sought after talent in the beachy business of family portraits in Destin Florida.
Interestingly, he got his start as a photographer decades ago as a struggling actor in Hollywood. During the strikes and down time, he taught himself the art of ‘actor headshots’. Having a cinematic eye and a southern, down-home charm…he was a natural.
Before long, Rockett was lured away from acting to his newly acquired photography biz. The $$$ was excellent and there was always a photo-shoot on the beach…somewhere.

- Rock ‘n Roll DJ ~ as a wee lad of 18 he began his media career at WMC-FM100 Memphis. For the next five years, proceeded to troll radio audiences around the country ~ WRBC Jackson, WHBQ Memphis, WSGN Birmingham, WBMJ San Juan, WJDX / WZZQ Jackson.
- Actor ~ G Rockett Phillips ~ One Life To Live, Guiding Light, Days of Our Lives + many episodic guest star appearances Taxi, Knightrider, Hill Street Blues, Flamingo Road and others.
- Los Angeles Photography Studio ~Actor Headshots ~ to supplement the acting income, he became a sought-after headshot artist for actors.
- Career Pivot ~ Morning Radio Crazee ~ The Rockett in the Morning Show at KQKQ/Sweet 98 won him a nomination in the ’90s for Billboard Morning Show Personality of the Year!
- The Godfather of the Podcast ~ After a contract dispute, Rockett took his popular radio show to this new thing called…The Internet! (the very first live podcast)
- Rockett Studios Arizona ~ The photography business relocated to Scottsdale, AZ to shoot for POST USA Magazine.
- (Ring) Hello? Nashville Calling ~ and Nash Rockett was born, along with The Daily Nash & The Almost Famous podcasts.
- (Knock, Knock, Who’s There?) ~ An emergency triple coronary bypass. Enough said except…all good!
- Destin ~ Moved the podcast and photography studio to the sugar-white beaches of the Gulf Coast of Florida.

Time is a valuable commodity that we all possess. I was ALMOST forced to tap out a couple of years ago.
As a photographer/designer, my job is to capture beauty, drama, and the elegance of human nature, in every one of my frames. Each, an attempt to freeze time and immortalize a moment. I understand this concept down to my bones.
